50th Anniversary Celebrations Registration Form



22nd – 24th August 2014
Dear Past Associate of Mackay North High

You are invited to register to participate in the 50th Anniversary Celebration and School Reunion to be held at the school from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August 2014.  To register you may choose to:

Celebrations will include:
• A Twilight Concert presented by current students in the school hall on Friday 22nd August, starting at 7pm.  Finger food with a complimentary first drink will be served after the Concert. There will be a charge of $10.00 for this ‘meet and greet’ event, leading into celebrations for the weekend.

• An informal Anniversary Dinner in the school hall on Saturday Evening 23rd August.  Pre-dinner drinks available from 6.00pm from a well-stocked bar at very reasonable prices. There will be a charge of $45 per head for the dinner.

• A tour of the school will be conducted by present day students and teachers on Sunday 24th August from 10a.m.  Brunch will be available from 10am – 12 noon.

 An Anniversary Book will be available for purchase for $25.00.  Past Associates are asked to pre-order copies to be collected at the school on the anniversary weekend.  Long-time members of staff of MNSHS have prepared the publication, with the assistance of many past teachers and students.  The history and highlights of the school over the last 50 years are outlined and illustrated in this publication.

Other memorabilia is available and may be ordered on the form ready for pick up.

Memorabilia will also be available for purchase throughout the weekend.  Lapel Pins or Pens are $5.00 each; a Cooler is $12.00; Mugs are $12.00 and Hats are $15.00.

The response to our initial mail-out has been fantastic.  It has been great to hear from past associates by mail, phone and e-mail.  Thank you for your enthusiastic response.  North High has educated in excess of 17 000 students in its short 50 year history and while it is impossible to mail each individually, we thank you all for helping to get the message out.  Please continue the good work by passing on copies of this letter to other members of your family or associates of our school.

Can you help the organising committee?

 If you have any information, photos or memorabilia, we would be pleased to hear from you!  Any photos or memorabilia you are able to lend us for display at the Anniversary Dinner and during the school tour will be treated with the utmost care and returned to you after the event.

If you have any photos that would be suitable for publication in the anniversary book, and are able to scan them in a .jpg format we would love to have them for consideration in the publication.  If you have stories we can add to this historical record, please send them for consideration by July 14th
